J. Ann's Story
I have so many fond memories of high school, but I'm really not in touch with any friends from that time and that is my loss. Just a few weeks ago, I organized a T-Town tour with my younger brother and sister. We drove by all our old houses and all our old schools. Until recently I learned, my biology teacher (Terry Sandlin) was principal of my former elementary school (Whitson). Capper is no longer a junior high, and T-West now has covered sidewalks. ered way too many times skipping class to have lunch there. Bill's West Side Tavern was the subject of many fictional accounts of getting "a draw and crackers." It's still there but that is about all of the Seabrook area that looked familiar. Gage Bowl still has one pinball machine and there is no smoking there now, so it was a completely different experience. In short, we had a blast. And it made me just a bit nostalgic for those old days of Charger Choir and Biology lab and my Capper friends (heck, my Whitson friends!) and all that is good and not so good about high school.
